Netherton United complete a Peterborough & District Youth League double, plus local football roll of honour
Netherton United have been confirmed as champions in Under 16 Division One of the Peterborough & District Youth League.
The city side have been awarded victories in unfulfilled fixtures caused by opponents pulling out and that was enough for them to overhaul Deeping Rangers at the top of the table.
Netherton won 16 and lost 1 of 17 completed fixtures and their success completed a title double for the club who also finished top in Under 15 Division One.
Peterborough Sports have won the Cambs Girls Under 15A Division title.
Sports finally edged ahead of city rivals ICA Sports Juventus on the final weekend of the season when they were awarded an away victory against FC Kennett after their hosts couldn’t raise a side.
Sports finished one point clear of ICA after a 21-game season. A sturdy defence was the key as the champions conceded just nine goals.
