Jackson makes it five transfers from Stamford AFC to Peterborough Sports this summer....so far

Highly-rated goalkeeper Tom Jackson has joined the exodus from Stamford AFC to Peterborough Sports.

Jackson becomes the fifth player to move from the Zeeco Stadium to PIMS Park after Jordon Cooke, Jack Keeble, Leon Lobjoit and George Hobbins. Others are expected to make the same trip with Harry Vince and Kai Sanchez-Tonge tipped to work again for their former Stamford boss Graham Drury.

Jackson will replace long-term Sports goalkeeper Peter Crook whose departure was confirmed yesterday alongside veteran forward Mark Jones.

Jackson has made over 100 appearances for Stamford in two seasons at the club. The 29 year-old has also had spells at North Ferriby United, Frickley Athletic, Gainsborough Trinity, Cleethorpes United and Belper Town.

Jackson told the club website: “I’m really excited at the opportunity to join Peterborough Sports, a club with big aspirations for the next season. I’ve jumped at the opportunity to come and give it everything to get back where we want to be.”

“I’ve got a good relationship with the players who have joined already this summer. We’ve played lots of minutes together and I hope the way we ended last season will continue at Sports. I’m a vocal keeper who wants to win. I wear my heart on my sleeve when I play and I just love winning so that’s ultimately my aim in every game.”
