Jack's the lad at the top of the scoring charts after Spalding United eased past promotion rivals, desperate injury bad luck for Bourne Town
Jack Roberts is now joint top scorer among Southern Premier Division Central clubs after taking his tally to 13 in Saturday’s 3-0 league win over Needham Market on Saturday.
Roberts scored two, with a trademark free kick and a close-range finish, as ‘The Tulips’ put their promotion rivals to the sword at the Sir Halley Stewart Field with three goals in the last 11 minutes of the first-half.

Giant striker Bart Cybulski, with his 11th goal of the campaign, had opened the scoring with a glancing header from a corner as Spalding completed back-to-back home wins in front of 337 supporters. They will seek a hat-trick on Tuesday (7.45pm) when lowly Bury Town travel to South Lincolnshire.
Second-placed Spalding remain a point behind leaders Harborough Town who won 2-1 at Worcester City today. Harborough have a tough game at home to third-placed Redditch United on Tuesday.
Bottom club Stamford are also in Tuesday action at home to Kettering Town. ‘The Daniels’, who are 13 points from safety, saw their scheduled game against fellow strugglers AFC Sudbury postponed today because of a waterlogged Zeeco Stadium playing surface.
Spare a thought for Bourne Town today. ‘The Wakes’ were a goal up at next-to-bottom Boldmere St Michaels in a Northern Premier Midland Division clash when in-form goalkeeper Will Lakin left the game because of injury in the 27th minute. They had no back-up ‘keeper on the bench so forward Will Bird went in goal. Sam Bayly promptly made it 2-0 to Bourne with his second goal of the game, but the hosts recovered to win 3-2 which included a last-minute winner. Bourne stayed outside the bottom four, but will slip back in if AFC Rushden & Diamonds win a Tuesday home game.
Frankie Webster’s goal earned Yaxley a point from a 1-1 draw at Sileby Rangers in the United Counties Premier Division South, but in the Premier Division North Blackstones’ slide down the table continued with a 3-1 defeat at Sherwood Colliery. William Bestwick claimed a consolation goal for Stones who had trailed 3-0 at the break.
There were a host of local postponements in Division One North of the Thurlow Nunn League, but Whittlesey Athletic failed to make up any ground as they went down 1-0 in Clacton.
Peterborough Sports claimed an outstanding 3-0 win over National League North high-fliers Radcliffe at PIMS Park on Saturday. Ben Beresford, Maliq Cadogan and Elliott Whitehouse scored the goals against a team who finished with nine men.
