Peterborough Town entertain several old boys at Bretton Gate, more leagues get under way

Peterborough Town’s clash with a host of former players tomorrow (May 1, 11am) has been set up nicely by the opening day results in the Northants Premier Division.

Brigstock are the visitors to Bretton Gate and they won a high-scoring game against Horton House last weekend, while Town were seeing off Desborough by six wickets.

Brigstock snapped up all-rounder Danny Mohammed from Town in the close season and he started the season in superb style with figures of 4-32 followed by an unbeaten half century.

Brigstock skipper is former Town player Bashrat Hussain, while pro Asim Butt and off-spinner Mohammed Saif also used to grace Bretton Gate.

Oundle Town lost their opening day game at Rushsden & Higham and will try to make amends at Desborough tomorrow.

Cambs Divisions Two and Three kick off tomorrow while the Rutland League top flight gets under way on Sunday with reigning champions Peterborough Town hosting Market Deeping.

King’s Keys have changed their name to City CC.
