The Northants League champions set a target of raising £15k in six weeks to make up for the financial shortfall caused by a pandemic.

But they reached that target in just two weeks and are now kicking on to see if they can reach £20k by the end of March. Sports England made a £6k contribution as part of the crowdfunding terms.

A club spokesman said: “The committee are blown away by the support from everyone who has contributed to enable us to reach the target. Memberships have been paid in advance, as have ball sponsorships. Lunches have been organised, new club sponsors have come forward. We have even had people donate and we have no idea who they are!”

Donors can claim rewards as they pledge.
