Market Deeping take huge step to regaining Premier Division status, thrilling wins for Burghley Park and Spalding, unsafe pitch in Bourne match
Market Deeping have taken a huge step towards regaining their place at the top table in Lincolnshire cricket.
The villagers were relegated from the Lincs Premier Division for the first time last season which led to multiple first-team players leaving the club.

But they are now joint-top of the Championship South Division, and favourites for the title, after demolishing main rivals by Newborough by 10 wickets at Outgang Road.
The entire game lasted just 27 overs and one ball as Newborough, who had beaten Deeping in the reverse fixture last month, crumbled to 54 all out before watching their hosts race home without losing a wicket in under nine overs.
Kester Sainsbury, Dan George, and current Notts first-class player Lyndon James, all claimed three wickets for Deeping before openers Connor Gillett and Mohammed Saleem sealed the win. Deeping host third-placed Boston in another big game on Saturday.
Castor remain stuck in mid-table in Division One South after losing a low-scoring game against Freiston by two wickets at Port Lane, but Burghley Park seconds are third after an eight-wicket win at Heckington which was set up by 6-27 from Henry Armstrong and finished off by Alex Ashwin’s unbeaten 68.
In Division Two South Baston lost by 29 runs despite shooting Royal Boston out for 105 and Newborough seconds went down by 45 runs at Skegness seconds despite 54 from Will Olley.
Burghley Park pipped start-of-day Premier Division leaders Sleaford by two wickets in a very low-scoring contest. James Laud claimed 5-19 as Sleaford were despatched for just 112.
And Spalding also secured a thrilling win by one wicket at Bracebridge Heath to move out of the bottom two. Aussie leggie Walter Kinlock took 3-30 as the hosts mustered 203-9 and was at the crease when victory was assured by a last-wicket partnership with Jamie Boles (21no). Ollie Dring had earlier hit 50.
Bourne’s game at Grantham lasted just seven overs before the game was abandoned because of an unsafe pitch.
In Cambs League Premier Division One Sam Albutt and Danny Haynes both cracked tons for Wisbech Town, but the Fenman drew their Cambs Premier Division One match against Newmarket.
In Division Two Barnack won by six-wickets at Eaton Socon seconds. Asim Butt claimed 4-4 and Ali Zeb returned figures of 4-26 as the home side were dismissed for 94.
In Division Three March Town toppled leaders Saffron Walden seconds by 52 runs at Burrowmoor Lane. Andrew Wright bagged 4-30 as the visitors were bowled out for 161. Stamford Town, who are seventh, were also easy winners, by 105 runs at City of Ely. Tim Juggins (57 & 4-19) was the star man here as Stamford won 167-62.
