Make or break weekend for Peterborough Town who have two huge games at Bretton Gate, Burghley Park 6s Finals Night is here
Peterborough Town face a make or break weekend in a season that is not yet half way through.
Town suffered a damaging Northants Premier Division defeat last weekend when neighbours Oundle Town outplayed them to win by five wickets at Milton Road.

A second loss on the spin – and slow bowling was Town’s undoing in both games – has left the city side in fourth place and 48 points behind joint leaders Finedon and Stony Stratford. The latter visit Bretton Gate on Saturday (11am start) and defeat would surely end hopes of the title for Town after just eight of 18 matches.
Town also have a big game on Sunday when Surrey Championship side Sutton CC visit the Gate for a last-16 ECB Club KO match (1pm). Town will be bidding to reach the quarter-finals for the first time in the club’s history against a team currently fourth in a competitive Premier Division. Fabian Cowdrey, son and grandson of former England captains Chris and Colin, is part of the Sutton side.

Stratford also have a big name player as Somerset CCC legend James Hildreth is in their squad.
Oundle, who are still waiting for an appeal hearing over a harsh 50-point deduction, are at reigning champions Finedon tomorrow.
Burghley Park host leaders Sleaford in a Lincs Premier Division fixture tomorrow (11.30am) when third-placed Bourne travel to troubled Grantham.
There’s a big game in the Championship South as second-placed Market Deeping host leaders Newborough (12.30pm) seeking revenge for a recent defeat in the reverse fixture.
The semi-finals and finals of the Burghley Park sixes take place tonight (Friday, from 6.15pm). Holders Bourne and regular winners Oundle Town went out in the first round ro Oakham and Uppingham respectively.
Uppingham then took out Peterborough Town in their quarter-final on Thursday when Uffington beat Newborough and Burghley Park beat Barnack: Oakham beat Castor in their quarter-final on Wednesday. Semi-final draw: Oakham v Burghley Park, Uppingham v Uffington.
