Cricket play-off semi-final action for Peterborough Town, Oundle Town and Bourne

Peterborough Town skipper David Clarke will ask his players for a repeat performance when they travel to old foes Finedon in the Northants Premier Division play-off semi-final tomorrow (September 12).

Clarke is hoping a crushing eight-wicket win for his side when the teams met at Bretton Gate last month is fresh in the mind of both sets of players.

Finedon were skittled for a paltry 70 that day, but will doubtless be better on their own patch this weekend.

“They are a better side than they showed that day,” Clarke admitted. “But hopefully the result will play on their minds a bit.

“It’s disappointing to be drawn away, but it’s a ground everyone enjoys playing on so it shouldn’t be factor in who wins.

“It’s all about carrying on playing in exactly the same way we’ve done all season.

“We’ve executed our skills well all summer and we just have to do it for two more matches now.”
