City cricketer Andrews has been in good nick at World Cup in New Zealand
City-based cricketer Nick Andrews was a steady performer as holders England won their opening two matches in the Over 70s World Cup in New Zealand.
The off spin bowler from Werrington returned figures of 1-27 from nine overs in a 10 wicket win over India and then 1-0 from six overs as Canada were despatched by 120 runs. Andrews scored 13 runs in the Canada match.

But England were then beaten by four wickets by Australia in a high scoring clash in Wellington. Andrews, who still plays club cricket for Market Deeping, was hit for 42 from six wicketless overs as Australia chased down England’s 45-over score 248-4.
England still have games to come against Sri Lanka (Thursday), United States (Friday), New Zealand (Sunday) and the Rest of the World (Tuesday) before, hopefully, the final on March 5.
