Champion sprinter Jake Berney is making a name for himself in another sport these days.
The 22 year-old former Peterborough Athletic Club star, who smashed club and county records as a young teenager and topped the UK 100m and 200m UK rankings, is now concentrating all his efforts on bodybuilding.
He competed in the UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (UKBFF) North East of England Championship in Leeds on Sunday (August 19) and came first in the junior men’s physique category, which qualified him for the British Finals (UKBFF) on October 13 at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham.
Jake lost 20kg in 20 weeks in preparation for his success. He is currently studying for his Masters degree in strength and conditioning at Middlesex University and also works part-time at the Vivacity Health & Fitness Centre in Hampton, Peterborough.
