ASHES TEST: Century-maker Malan played for Peterborough Town
Malan’s maiden Test century gave England the advantage on the first day of the third Test in Perth.
Malan (110 not out) delivered the first hundred of England’s Ashes campaign, while Mark Stoneman (56) and Jonny Bairstow (75no) played important hands too in a stumps total of 305 for four after captain Joe Root chose to bat.

Hide AdMalan (30) was a Peterborough Town professional in 2006 and played eighteen times in the Northants League Premier Division, scoring an unbeaten 101 in a win over Rushton.
He finished the season with 521 runs at an average of 37.21.
He also played for Oundle Town in the Rutland League in the same year and scored 106 for them in a match against Town.
Also during the summer of 2006, Malan made his debut for Middlesex.

Hide AdMalan made his England debut in the T20 team against South Africa in 2017, and began with a blistering 78 from 44 balls on debut.
He then made his Test debut at The Oval later in the summer, in England’s 3rd Test victory over South Africa.
