Woman rescued from water filled ditch after crash near Peterborough

A woman was rescued from a water filled ditch following a crash near Peterborough.

The incident happened at 7.03am on Bullock Road, Morborne.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all called to the scene.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find a vehicle had left the road and ended up in a water filled ditch. One casualty was rescued from the vehicle by firefighters wearing water gear.

"The casualty was left in the care of the ambulance service.

"Crews returned to their stations by 8.30am."

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service added: "An ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to Bullock Road, Morborne, following reports of a vehicle in the water after a road traffic collision. One woman was assessed and discharged at the scene."
