Peterborough remains under an amber Met Office warning for extreme, which expires at 11.59pm tonight.

For those who don’t enjoy the heat, the good news is that things look set to cool towards the end of the weekend.

Temperatures look set to return to their seasonal average on Sunday (June 28) thanks to air moving over from the Atlantic.

This will result in temperatures falling to the mid-20s, with cloud and light rain expected.
