Ice warning issued for Peterborough tonight as temperatures set to plummet

A yellow weather warning has been issued for Peterborough tonight with temperatures set to plummet.

The warning for ice comes into force at 4pm today and will remain in force until 10am tomorrow.

Temperatures could drop below freezing tonight, and anyone who has to travel is urged to take extra care.

The warning says: "Icy surfaces leading to difficult travel conditions in places.

"What to expect:

"Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

"Probably some icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
