Fun in the snow near Peterborough - weather warning remains in place

Peterborough saw wintry showers for much of yesterday but just outside the city there was heavier snowfall with youngsters out having fun making snowmen and snow angels.

The city escaped any real snowfall but a few miles north of the city in Barnack, Stamford and Bourne there was heavier snow.

A Met Office yellow warning for icy conditions covering Peterborough remains in place this morning, and several areas near water courses have been warned of the possibility of flooding.

Wintry showers are forecast for tomorrow morning (January 16) with temperatures increasing by Sunday.

Although the snow quickly disappeared overnight many readers north of the city sent us images of the snow in their area.
