Amber weather warning issued for Peterborough as heavy rain set to hit city
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The warning is in place from 6am tomorrow until noon on Thursday. It covers Peterborough as well as areas of the UK to the north west.
The warning says: " Heavy rainfall combined with some snowmelt across the hills is likely to lead to flooding.

"Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life.
"Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely.
"Spray and flooding probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
"A good chance some communities cut off by flooded roads.

There are already a number of flood warnings in place in the area.Over Christmas areas in Peterborough and the surrounding areas were hit by severe flooding.
Delays on the roads are also expected - Bourges Boulevard has struggled to cope with heavy rain fall over the past year, and it is possible there will be delays for people making essential journeys.Areas of Ferry Meadows and Nene Park are also struggling to cope with the amount of rain the city has had in recent weeks.
