Nene Valley Railway’s marketing manager Jerry Thurston said it was a busy weekend.

He said: “As well as the car show, we also had the first of two Thomas’ Big Adventure events which are taking place this year.

“Normally Thomas only operates between Wansford and Yarwell but, twice a year, we run a special service where takes passengers to Peterborough and back.

“That meant we had a lot of people on site and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.

“The car show has been running for around five years now and is growing in popularity year-on-year.”

Peterborough Vintage Cycle Club members were present in period costume.

Model boat enthusiasts put on a static display and also did a demonstration on the river.

Visitors were able to enjoy lunch in the station cafe, or take along a picnic, and steam services were running throughout the day.
