Vintage vehicles draw big crowd to Nene Valley Railway
The Classic Car Sunday event took place last weekend and featured more than 150 vehicles.
As well as looking at the impressive selection of cars, visitors could also join tours of the signal box and maintenance sheds where locomotives are repaired and rebuilt.

Hide AdNene Valley Railway’s marketing manager Jerry Thurston said it was a busy weekend.
He said: “As well as the car show, we also had the first of two Thomas’ Big Adventure events which are taking place this year.
“Normally Thomas only operates between Wansford and Yarwell but, twice a year, we run a special service where takes passengers to Peterborough and back.
“That meant we had a lot of people on site and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.

Hide Ad“The car show has been running for around five years now and is growing in popularity year-on-year.”
Peterborough Vintage Cycle Club members were present in period costume.
Model boat enthusiasts put on a static display and also did a demonstration on the river.
Visitors were able to enjoy lunch in the station cafe, or take along a picnic, and steam services were running throughout the day.

Hide AdClassic Car Sunday will take place again next summer and is expected to be even bigger an better.
Jerry added: “We’ve had a lot of positive feedback about the event over the years and word is spreading fast.”
