Van driver seriously injured in terrifying crash near Peterborough

A van driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after overturning their vehicle and clearing a dyke near Peterborough this morning.

Emergency services attended the incident at the T-junction between Black Drove and Gull Drove in the early hours of the morning to find a van that had gone straight over the junction, cleared a water filled dyke and had overturned.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “Emergency Services were called to Black Drove junction with Gull Drove this morning after a van had gone straight over a T-junction and cleared a water filled dyke.

“The driver of the vehicle has been taken to Peterborough City Hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

“Black Drove was closed for a short time while the vehicle was recovered from the scene.”

Cambridgeshire Police have urged anyone driving in the foggy conditions to drive carefully and have confirmed that they received 87 reports of collisions across the county this weekend.
