Two week closure of road between Peterborough and Whittlesey begins
The road was completely shut at King’s Dyke at 7am today.
This is because Lindum Homes is building 68 homes close to the nature reserve and needs to undergo a sewer connection and to divert underground utilities.
The works were meant to have taken place in April but were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A signed diversion route will also be put in place.
At the same time as the closure, Jones Bros will undertake works on the King’s Dyke scheme which will see a new road and bridge constructed over the level crossing.
The works will be carried out with temporary traffic lights installed.
