Reduced speed limit on Peterborough's Frank Perkins Parkway to last into next week after crash

Motorists are being warned about a reduced speed limit on the Frank Perkins Parkway following a crash that damaged the barrier.

The incident happened on Saturday (December 18), with damage caused to the pedestrian guardrail.

Peterborough City Council have now said repairs will be unable to take place until next week – meaning a reduced speed limit will be in place on the eastbound carriageway.

A spokesperson for the council said: “An accident on the A1139 parkway caused damage to the pedestrian guardrail alongside the footpath over the river bridge. As a result, there is a lane closure with a reduced speed limit for safety reasons on the eastbound carriageway between Stanground (Junction 3A) and Boongate (Junction 5). This will be in place until repairs can be undertaken, which will likely be week commencing 5 January.”
