Peterborough driver arrested on suspicion of drink driving following crash which injured two police officers

Two police officers have been injured in a collision in Peterborough.

The crash happened at 11.45am today.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said; "We were notified at about 11.45am today (4 December) that a Vauxhall Zafira was involved in a collision with a marked police car on the Fletton Parkway (A1139) near Orton Goldhay.

“The slip road onto the carriageway has been closed while recovery of the police vehicle, a Vauxhall Astra, takes place.

“The two officers in the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the collision. They were not responding to an emergency.

“It is unclear if the driver of the Zafira has been injured, but they have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.”
