North Bank Road closed to cars after flood warning issued
North Bank Road at Whittlesey has been closed to traffic after The Environment Agency issued a flood warning.
The road was closed on Sunday evening (November 16) and will remain closed until further notice.
The diversion route is via Whittlesey Road B1040, A47 Paston Parkway, Parnwell Way, Oxney Road, Pearces Road and vica versa.
The flood warning says: “High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Monday morning. Flooding is expected between 5:00AM and 9:00AM of 17 November 2025. No further rainfall is forecast, however river levels are expected to remain high due to tide lock.

" During periods of high tide the River Nene will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding of the North Bank Road, between Peterborough and Rings End. “Whilst this Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road.
"Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media. We are closely monitoring the situation . Please do not drive through floodwater as bow waves may affect adjacent properties .”
