Lucky escape for van driver after overturning in high winds

There was a lucky escape for a van driver on Saturday after his vehicle overturned in the high winds.

The driver lost control in Oilmills Road, Ramsey Mereside, but thankfully escaped serious injury.

Peterborough and Cambridgeshire experienced strong winds over the weekend as the country continues to be hit by storms, although the county escaped the worst of it.

Meanwhile, police highlighted another fortunate escape earlier today after the driver of a van only suffered what were described as “slight injuries” after crashing in Wansford.

Police said they were informed of the crash at 10.41am in Elton Road.
