The emergency closure was announced yesterday, with traffic between Boongate and Stanground affected.

Peterborough City Council said on Monday that the potholes had opened up the previous 24 hours.

A council spokesman said this afternoon (Tuesday): “The road was re-surfaced yesterday and the lane which was closed re-opened this morning.

“We are planning to close the lane again for a couple of hours tonight to re-paint road markings. This is due to take place from 8pm.”
