Network Rail will be carrying out a series of emergency works to replace 87 pairs of wheel timbers on the railway tracks on four bridges at Manea following a derailment of a freight train earlier this year.

This means the line will be closed on Sunday, August 2.

During this time, there will be no direct trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich. Trains from the North East will terminate at Peterborough. Trains from Norwich will terminate at Ely. Express rail replacement coaches will run between Peterborough and Norwich. There will also be a rail replacement bus serving intermediate stations between Peterborough and Ely.
