The works begin on January 31 to allow an entrance to be created for the new Lincolnshire Co-op at the former Morley’s bus depot and to allow the necessary utilities works to take place.

Traffic controls will be in place from 7am on the Sunday until 7pm on Friday, February 12, with works undertaken between 7.30am and 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays and between 8am and 1pm on Sundays.

The new store is due to open in mid-April on land just off the A605, fronting Finkle Lane, after planning permission was granted despite local opposition.

The outlet will provide services including fresh and frozen goods, British meat, fruit and vegetables, chilled beers and wines and freshly baked goods, the company said.

Jobs for the new store are currently being advertised at: http://jobs.lincolnshire.coop.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Co-op said: “We need to undertake some roadworks to create the entrance to our new food store which will provide a new service for the area.

“We apologise for any inconvenience these roadworks will cause but we’re working with our contractors to minimise the disruption as much as possible.

“We’re recruiting now for local people to join the team and hope to open the doors to our new store in mid-April.”
