A15 to close for investigation after fatal crash near Baston

The A15 near Baston will close between 1pm and 1.30pm this afternoon (Thursday, October 22) as the investigation into a fatal crash continues.

Steve Bristow, 42, of Chuch Walk, was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash near Waterside Garden Centre, at the junction with King Street, at about 1.15pm on Monday, October 19.

Mr Bristow was riding a grey 400cc Yamaha motorcycle which was in collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van driven by a 45-year-old Sheffield man.

The van driver was taken to Peterborough City hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Police will close the road today to help with the forensic investigation. A spokesman said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.”
