Serious multi vehicle crash shuts A47 in both directions - road to remain closed for several hours

A serious multi vehicle crash has closed the A47 in both directions this afternoon.

All emergency services are at the scene and those involved are understood to have serious injuries.

The road is likely to be shut for several hours.

The closure is from the B1167 near Thorney Toll to the A141.

Traffic is being diverted via local routes. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

UPDATE: The road has now reopened.
