Car overturns on Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough

A car has overturned on the Frank Perkins Parkway on the southbound carriageway near Boongate.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of the accident, which happened at about 3.45pm today (Tuesday).

The car on its roof is a Volkswagen Golf, and no other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

A police spokesman said both lanes were currently blocked. The road is shut between Stanground and Hampton.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said there were two people injured, a man and a woman, both aged in their 30s. The spokesman said both were out of the car, and were though to have suffered head injuries. He said it was not thought the injuries were serious.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while the emergency services work at the scene.
