Appeal after Whittlesey '˜hit and run' leaves car badly damaged

An appeal has gone out after an alleged hit and run in Whittlesey.

A car was left badly damaged after the incident in Bassenhalley Road at around 8am on Saturday.

Tracey Burgess said her daughter’s car had been hit by a blue Ford Focus which was seen travelling along Peterborough Road towards Peterborough shortly afterwards with considerable front damage.

Tracey added: “We would like to appeal for anyone who knows where the car is or knows the driver of the vehicle to contact the police. Or if anyone has any dash cam or CCTV footage to contact the police.”

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “We have been contacted about a collision in Whittlesey at about 7.45am on Saturday.

“The incident involved a parked Vauxhall Astra and another vehicle which did not stop at the scene.

“Anyone with any information about this incident should call 101 and ask to speak to the Cameras, Tickets, Collision department quoting RTC/35/FC7T/2292018 or visit www.cambs.police.uk/report.”
