Air ambulance lands after explosion at Peterborough firework factory

Emergency services including the air ambulance are all in attendance at the scene following the incident at the La Maitre factory in Fourth Drove, Fengate.

Hide AdA spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “We were called just before 11am to the La Maitre factory by the ambulance service following reports there had been an explosion.
“At least one person has been injured.”
The spokesman could not confirm the extent of the injuries suffered, but said there were no suspicious circumstances.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said; “We’re currently at the scene of a fire in Fourth Drive, Peterborough. We were called at 10.43am.

Hide Ad“Two ambulance officers, two rapid response vehicles, two ambulances, two units from our Hazardous Area Response Team and MAGPAS Air Ambulance are currently at the scene.”
People are advised to avoid the area while emergency services work at the scene.
