Serious lorry crash shuts A14 both ways in Cambridgeshire

A crash on the A14 in Cambridgeshire is causing significant delays in both directions this afternoon, Wednesday March 20.

The crash involves two lorries and a third vehicle has taken place westbound at Swavesey and is described by police as a “serious RTC.

A police spokesman said: “Details are sketchy but a number of people are believed to be seriously injured.”

Police were called at 4.36pm and part of the carriageway has now been closed in both directions between Fenstanton at junction 27 and Bar Hill at junction 29.

Congestion is back to Girton westbound.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or expect long delays.
