The charity, which has raised vital funds in memory of three-year-old Anna Olivia Hughes for children and their families affected by brain tumours, is calling for friends, families and local businesses to sign-up to the charity run.

Carole Hughes, founder of Anna’s Hope, said: “We have been involved in the 5k Fun Run over the last eight years and it’s really special that the Fun Run has been re-named the Anna’s Hope Fun Run.

“It’s only 5k and you don’t have to be a runner to take part, you can jog or walk if you want. Every year we see all of the runners in the Fun Run at the finishing line with big smiles on their faces.”

Taking place on Sunday, October 11 in Peterborough, the Anna’s Hope Fun Run will ‘run’ alongside the Perkins Great Eastern Run - one of the fastest growing half marathons in the country.

The Anna’s Hope 5k Fun Run will start at the Embankment at about 9am.

There is also the chance for those running in the Junior Challenge to win additional prizes if they raise funds for Anna’s Hope.

Carole added: “We are really grateful to those who have also raised funds for Anna’s Hope in the run by getting sponsored. Every penny raised goes to supporting the charity’s aims and we are now making a real difference to local children diagnosed with a brain tumour through the Anna’s Hope Therapy, which supports a pioneering neuro-rehabilitation service called Brainbow. Since it’s launch 18 months ago the service has helped over 100 children.”
