Peterborough campaigners take over Cathedral Square in Cost of Living protest

Protesters waved flags and carried banners and posters in the event on Saturday. One banner said ‘we cannot afford to eat and heat’

A number of speakers, including former Peterborough MP Lisa Forbes, also took to the stage during the event.

Energy and food prices have risen sharply in recent weeks and months, and the protesters were calling for action to help families cope with the rise - or to for action to be taken to reduce prices.
