Peterborough City Council has granted approval for Jafbuild Limited to build 14 new flats above a convenience store in Hampton.
The development would be three storeys tall and will consist of 14 two bedroom flats at land just off Aqua Drive in Hampton Water above what plans show is a branch of Nisa Local.
The land is formerly agricultural land and was earlier used as brick pits. It has since been left vacant and has been cleared of all previous machinery and storage equipment.
Parking for 31 cars will be provided.
The application states: “Every effort has been made to provide a sensitive and sustainable development that will complement the area whilst targeting the needs of local people.
"The proposal incorporates traditional building materials to blend sympathetically with the neighbouring architecture and all to be built to an exacting detail balanced with a sustainability standard to benefit Peterborough and its environment.”
