Police find body of woman in Peterborough

Residents alerted police to concerns over the safety of the woman in Gunthorpe, Peterborough yesterday (Sunday) at 8am.

A search was carried out across Werrington and Gunthorpe, but sadly the woman was found dead by officers.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said; "We were called just after 8am yesterday (6 December) with reports of concern for a woman near the Campbell Drive area of Gunthorpe.

"Officers and paramedics attended and a search of the nearby area was carried out. Officers located the woman but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
