The services offered by the Post Office have now been transferred to the WH Smith branch in Bridge Street. The is new branding above the WH Smith store - but the old Post Office building is now vacant, with the windows covered over.

Post Office opening hours will be 9am–5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 2.30pm on Sunday. This means Post Office services would be available for a total of 55 hours every week, 9.5 hours more than are currently offered.

All staff at the Cowgate branch were given the chance to transfer to the new location.
