Peterborough fire fighters kept busy during hot weather
Crews attended a number of fires during the hot weather yesterday and this morning.
Yesterday at 1.12pm, one crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a fire in the open on Francis Gardens, Dogsthorpe.

Hide AdThe crew arrived to find a large area of grass well alight. Firefighters used a hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire.

At 8.17pm, one crew from March was called to a car fire on the B1101 near March. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, before returning to their station by 9.30pm.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
At 1.32am today, one crew from Huntingdon was called to a car fire on Priory Road, Huntingdon.

Shortly after the Huntingdon fire, at 1.38am, one crew from Sawtry was called to a fire in the open on Green Road, Sawtry.
Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire which involved conifers and hedging, before returning to their station by 2.40am.
The cause of the fire was accidental.

Hide AdAnd at 5.57am, one crew from Dosthorpe was called to reports of trees on fire on Barnes Close, Werrington.
The crew arrived to find a fire involving undergrowth and conifers. Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish the fire, before returning to their station by 7am.
