Young Whittlesey sports quiz champion crowned

Park Lane Primary School proved to be the place to be when it comes to sports knowledge in Whittlesey as Freddie and Imogen battled it out to be the Whittlesey Primary Schools Sports Quiz Champions.

Each of the town’s four primary school hosted their heats with two pupils from each school progressing to the knockout stage which was broadcast live on Fenland Youth Radio.

In the end, Freddie pipped Imogen after a tie-break question to snatch the title.

Both children received framed certificates to recognise their achievements which presented on behalf of the organisers by executive headteacher Rob Litten.

In addition, Janette Bowden handed over the winning shield which she initially donated in 2018.

The final stages was organised by Fenland Youth Radio and the Whittlesey Sports Association which were grateful of the support of BGL, Healthy Fenland and the Peterborough & Fenland Referee Development Scheme.
