Any beer festival worth its salt features an array of weird and wonderful beer names that brewers have come up with.
That’s certainly the case for the 2026 edition of the Peterborough Beer Festival, which returns to the city’s Embankment this week.
The popular annual event will return to the banks of the River Nene between Tuesday, August 25 and Saturday, August 29.
Organised by CAMRA volunteers and held in large outdoor marquees on the Embankment, the festival is expected to welcome around 25,000 visitors across the week.
The 2026 event continues the festival’s proud real ale tradition while introducing broader drinks choices designed to make the event welcoming for mixed groups, younger visitors and long-standing supporters alike.
This year’s festival will include new additions including an Independent UK Lager Bar and a US Cask Bar with over 50 selections to choose from.
For many visitors, the festival is an opportunity to try some creatively-named beers from far and wide across the country.
With the beer festival kicking off today (Tuesday, August 25), we’ve taken a look at 10 of our favourite beer names that are guaranteed to make you chuckle.
