WATCH: E-bike rider pushed to floor by officers on Peterborough's Bridge Street
The moment an e-bike rider who was tackled to the floor after he failed to stop for officers has been captured on CCTV.
Cambridgeshire Police and Peterborough City Council held a crack down on e-bike and e-scooter riders in Bridge Street at the end of August, with a total of 14 fixed penalty notices.
Police seized two illegal e-bikes and four e-scooters during the operation.
However, one rider tried to beat the system, with Cambridgeshire Police saying he failed to stop when requested.

But he wasn’t counting on two officers being on hand to bring him to a dramatic halt – all caught on CCTV.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Neighbourhood officers were conducting a day of action in Peterborough city centre last week to address the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters.
“During this, numerous high-vis officers attempted to stop a man as he rode an e-bike at a high speed.
“However, he hadn’t quite spotted our plain clothes officers who were waiting for him and managed to bring him to a stop!
“The e-bike was tested and found to provide electrical assistance to speeds of up to 23mph – the legal limit being 15.5mph.
“The man will now be reported for numerous driving offences.”
Speaking about the operation, Councillor Shabina Qayyum, leader of Peterborough City Council, said: “This is the latest action by our newly formed City Impact Team, which launched following the hugely positive Operation Horizon earlier this month.
“Lots of residents have told us they feel vulnerable and scared shopping in our city centre, with e-scooters and e-bikes whizzing past them at speed.”
