WATCH: Changes to layout of Queensgate Roundabout roadworks planned - with full closure scheduled for weekend
A month after a major roadworks scheme was started on the Queensgate Roundabout in the city centre, alterations are being planned to make it easier for motorists to navigate it.
The busy roundabout has been reduced to one lane while works on the underpass beneath the island take place.
The roadworks scheme is set to last for around a year – and delays have also been announced after skeletons were found by workers. It is believed the seven human remains originate from the old burial ground that was located at the site before the roundabout was built.

The works have caused long delays during busy periods.
Now Peterborough City Council has confirmed changes will be made this week to the layout, in a bid to make it easier for motorists and workers.
There will be a full closure of the roundabout to traffic on Sunday (August 9) to allow the changes to take place.
On social media, Peterborough City Council said: “Queensgate roundabout will be closed in all directions on Sunday 9 August between 8pm and 6am for one night to make changes to the current traffic management layout.
“We have been monitoring the current traffic management layout for our City Link project and believe we are able to make some small amendments that will have a positive impact on the traffic flow.
"Diversion routes will be signed on site.”
"We are moving the current location of the works access which will enable us to widen the access route from Thorpe Road onto Bourges Boulevard. We will also be carrying out some lining and street lighting works
