WATCH as burglar helps himself to birthday cake after breaking into Peterborough home
A burglar was caught on CCTV holding a slice of birthday cake as he left the Peterborough home he had just raided.
Abeeb Hussain (33) can be seen on CCTV using small stones to smash a back door window of a home in Eames Gardens, Welland, Peterborough.
He later emerges from the same door carrying the birthday cake after having stolen a Samsung mobile phone.
The break-in took place on July 26 and just 30 minutes later he broke into another home in Somerby Garth, Welland.

Again, he smashed a rear patio door, before stealing steaks and other grocery items.
Hussain was captured on CCTV prior to the offence and his DNA was also found on a cigarette butt he left outside the property.
The following day he went to a house in Flore Close, Westwood, Peterborough, and got inside through an open window.
He stole various items including a 50” television, a gold-coloured copy of the Quran and a selection of kitchen knives.
Hussain, who is also known as Dillon Currie, was identified by officers who viewed CCTV footage of the offences.
When he was arrested on August 1 he was carrying the stolen copy of the Quran.
Hussain, of no known address, admitted three counts of burglary and was jailed for two years and two months on Friday, 7 November, at Cambridge Crown Court.
DC George Corney, from the Acquisitive Crime Team, said: “Hussain’s audacity to help himself to a slice of cake during a burglary is mind boggling.
“These offences had a significant psychological, as well as financial, impact on the victims so I’m pleased Hussain was swiftly identified and has now been brought to justice.
“Tackling burglary remains a priority for the constabulary and we will continue to bring perpetrators before the courts wherever possible.”
