Tributes paid to long-serving Headteacher of Peterborough primary school

Tributes have been paid to long serving Headteacher of All Saints' Church of England Primary Rachael Hutchinson.

Rachael Hutchinson served as Headteacher at the school for over 15 years, between 2005 and 2021.

She passed away after a short illness on Tuesday (December 2).

In paying tribute, current All Saints’ Headteacher Nicholas Brompton said: “Rachael was Headteacher at out school from 2005 until 2021 and it is almost impossible to put into words the impact that she has had on our school in this time.

"When I joined the school as her successor, I often commented to others that the school is a ‘Headteacher’s dream.’ Whilst a lot of this is down to the amazing children and the most incredibly talented staff, fundamentally the school has been built on strong leadership, with Rachael being absolutely central to this.

"Sixteen years of dedicated service to our school and Rachael’s memory will live long in our church school community.

"I ask that people hold Rachael, her family, her friends and our church school community in their prayers over the coming days, weeks and months.”

Following her passing, some children from the school have written prayers to remember Mrs Hutchinson.

Two the Year 5 children wrote: “Dear God, Please help us remember who we loved and who loved us and help to make us to make those who feel sad happy and help others who are going through hard times. Thank you for the All Saints’ family that Mrs Hutchinson was part of. Amen”
