Top accolade for the Peterborough commercial agent behind a series of high profile deals
Barker Storey Matthews, which has offices in Thorpe Road, has won the title for the most active agent in Cambridgeshire.
And its director, Julian Welch, was named as the region’s Dealmaker of the Year after he completed more than 100 transaction over the year.

Hide AdIt is the ninth year in a row that BSM has been awarded the ‘most active agent’ title by commercial property research specialists EGi Radius Data Exchange.
The awards are judged on the volume of completed sales and lettings deals.
Mr Welch said: “The awards mean a lot to our business and our consistent high performance helps us to continue to cement our agency presence, as part of Eddisons’ wider offering, across the whole region.
Among the transactions completed by Mr Welch were a number of high profile deals.

Hide AdThey include the sale of the 62,000sq ft offices at Bayard Place on behalf of Peterborough City Council as well as the £400,000 plus sale of the former Cherry Tree pub, in Oundle Road, for the Milton Estate.
In addition, Mr Welch provided advice and marketing for the former Whitworth Mill building and surrounding land for Peterborough City Council with the sale expected to complete soon.
He also oversaw the letting for Squarestone of 15,000sq ft of office space at Broadoak, at Southgate Park, Peterborough, to the Yorkshire Building Society as it relocated from Lynch Wood.
Mr Welch added: “Given the radical change in business trading conditions since the first quarter of this year, we’re confident that, in serving our clients by capitalising on our detailed knowledge and experience of our local markets, we can reinforce our almost decade-long domination of the deals awards as we look to occupy the top slots again next year.”
