Tiny space cadets had a blast at Peterborough shopping centre

Peterborough’s Queensgate welcomed not five, not four, not three, not two, not one … but a whopping 1,700 little astronaut wannabes to the shopping centre for its free, intergalactic event over the weekend!

The space-themed half-term event, called ‘A World Of Imagination’ gave kids the chance to see the solar system in a giant dome, experience space using virtual reality masks, handle meteorites and even have a taste of space food … ice cream of course! Dressed up in astronaut costumes, curious children took part in 30-minute workshops in the space dome in North Square on Saturday and Sunday. Each child received a certificate to take home as a memory of their space experience. The event totally rocked everyone’s worlds, and gave kiddies a fun-filled break from orbiting the shopping centre. Families also took the opportunity to grab a bite while they were out and about, treating the children to some delicious half-term treats. Rebecca Keefe, Marketing Manager at Queensgate Shopping Centre said: “Everyone had a blast! This was one of our most popular events to date and it was brilliant to see so many families having fun. Thanks to everyone who came! We hope to plan more wonderful events like these in the future so keep your eyes peeled.”
