The White Hart pub close to Peterborough apologies after attendees of Bonfire Night display struck by firework
The White Hart in Ufford has apologised following a firework display at the pub on Bonfire Night (November 5).
The pub issued an apology after stating that the first firework of the evening ‘u-turned against the prevailing wind.’
Attendees have reported that a firework bounced off a tree before landing on some of those who happened to be standing underneath it. Some at the events have reported receiving minor burns from sparks that resulted from the incident.
The White Hart has reached out to those affected and issued an apology.

A pub statement read: “Following the Bonfire Night event at the White Hart we apologise to anyone affected by the first firework of the evening.
"It was carefully angled away from the bonfire and our guests. We are mortified that it u-turned against the prevailing wind. We believe we have managed to identify the thankfully small number of people who were affected and we have expressed our deepest regrets to them. We hope to meet them in person to make clear how sorry we are.
“As always our brilliant team of staff and charity volunteers dedicated months planning for all possible outcomes. Safety was paramount and we are dejected and horrified that this malfunction blighted some of our guests’ evening.
“We will of course investigate the incident and take the matter up with our suppliers.
“The evening was designed as a “not for profit” event and raised a significant sum for MacMillan Cancer Research. However, as an additional gesture, we’ll be making donations to local charities chosen in consultation with anyone affected.
“Thank you to everyone who attended and for your understanding and continued support.”
