The data, from the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government, shows how many residents were exposed to combined transport noise above 55 dB lden.
The Lden metric, also referred to as the 'day-evening-night level', represents the average annual long-term noise over 24 hours. It applies a 5 dB(A) penalty for the evening period (19:00-23:00) and a 10dB(A) penalty for the night-time period (23:00-7:00), to reflect greater sensitivity to noise during these hours.
The higher the number, the more residents were affected.
The number for England is 0.37, while for Peterborough as a whole, it is 0.34.
