The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on animals that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.
The Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA do so much to rescue, nurture and subsequently rehome animals in the area. They have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.
Below are a selection of those birds that have been rescued and are in need of their forever home.

9. Doves- Fancy Doves (1 year)
We have a group of six doves; one female and five males, looking for a home together after they were found abandoned in a small cage. They are ideally seeking a large secure aviary where they can live as a group, and could be mixed with other compatible bird species. The aviary should contain perches and enrichment, and a secure sheltered area where the birds can roost comfortably, protected from extremes of temperature and weather. We may be able to consider rehoming to a dovecote as long as they can be initially confined in order to help them settle in and learn to return to the area once set free. Photo: Midlands
