Take a first look inside new Beales store in Peterborough

Work is well underway to prepare Peterborough’s new Beales store for opening.

Fixtures and fittings are being installed throughout the ground floor store in Park Road, Westgate, as it prepares to open next month.

The new department store, which will employ 30 people, will feature a number of product ranges.

These will include a range of fashion brands, home furnishings, a large array of shoes, gardening equipment and a cafe.

Tony Brown, the chief executive of Beales, said it is also hoped the store will become a hub for local produced brands.

He said it is expected the store will open in the first week of May.

The original Beales store closed in February last year after the national company, which was headquartered in Bournemouth, went into administration.

The Beales web address and brand were bought by New Start 2020 which has is reviving the business and has already opened its first store in Poole.
